Have you ever dreamt of sailing the Seven oceans?

Well, there is no need to overdo it. Let’s instead focus on the Baltic Sea for a while. Because here in the north awaits you much more to explore than you can ever imagine.

ELSA Finland and ELSA Sweden would like to invite you to the annual ELSA Baltic Sea Exchange. Join us on this two days adventure including fascinating law perspectives, two nordic capitals, sea as far as the eyes can see, new friends and - not to mention - the mindblowingly awesome social programme on the ferry boats. During these days we’ll visit law firms and institutions in Stockholm and Helsinki for learning more about environmental law as well as taxation.

Do you want to kick off the event in Finland?
The finns have a great warm up in front of them. If you begin your journey in Finland you’ll go by ferry boat to Stockholm on Wednesday 7th of March 2012. On the following day, Thursday 8th, you’re going to hang out with the swedes all day in Stockholm and visit two law firms. In the evening, it's time to take the boat back to Finland (accompaied by the swedes this time) and finnish up the trip with the visits to a law firm and a institution in Helsinki the day after, Friday 9th.

How about starting the adventure in Sweden?
The swedes meet up in Stockholm for the visits to the two law firms held there, Thursday 8th of March 2012. In the evening, it's time to take the boat to Helsinki, now together with the finns. After two visits, at a finnish law firm and a finnish institution, and having said goodbye to old friends as well as new ones, the swedes take the ferry back to Sweden, Friday 9th.

Help - I want to join but I'm an international!
Don't worry, you don’t have to sail behind the ferry boats! We’ll make sure they have places for you too. What you have to do is to decide from which capital you’re going to participate in the event. Please note about the age limit that there can be four people under 21 in the group coming from Finland and those places are already filled (four altogether from Finland and internationals starting from Helsinki).

How many people can participate?
The maximum number of participants is 30. We count 10 places for Finnish students, 10 places for Swedish students and 10 places for International guests. The places will be filled in in order of application arrival times. The quote of Finland is now full, but don't worry, you can still send your application, since if any places are left from the other quotas, they will be filled in order of reserve ranking. Please note about the age limit that there can be four people under 21 in the Helsinki-start -group and those places are already filled.

Price: When starting the journey from Helsinki: 50 euros (includes ferry boat trips Helsinki-Stockholm, Stockholm-Helsinki, buffet first evening in the boat, four visits, transfer in Stockholm).
When starting the journey from Stockholm: 64 euros (includes ferry boat trips Stockholm-Helsinki, Helsinki-Stockholm, buffet first evening and breakfast on the next morning in the boat, four visits, transfer in Stockholm).
This difference of the price depends on the ferry price on Friday, which is a weedend day and the prize is a bit higher than on a regular day.

How do I apply?
Send an e-mail consisting your full name, date of birth, nationality, local/national ELSA group and special requirements (e.g. diets). Before also passport number was required, but now we know that it is not needed from any of the participants so you don't need to tell it.
