Within the honourable time ELSA Germany is existing, the legendary ELSA-spirit motivated and inspirated thousands of law students locally, nationally and internationally to organise hundreds of thousands lectures, panel discussions, moot courts, seminars, conferences or any other events besides their studies.
ELSA became an important aspect of their life and they might not miss ELSA even after their active times. Therefore ELSA is endeavours to create a network for those Alumni through which they can hand over their experience into current ELSA activities. We are happy about each single Alumnus being pleased to support active ELSAnians!
In January 2003, ELSA Alumni Deutschland e.V. (EAD) has been founded as the Alumni Association of ELSA Germany. It is therefore part of the German ELSA network but nevertheless an independent association. It’s a pool of those, who are not working for ELSA as active members anymore but do not want to lose contact to the ones they used to be working with. That way, we keep our members close to ELSA even after the end of their membership and are able to constantly increase the size of our network!
Aims of the EAD:
The EAD provides ELSA Germany a pool of lecturer, partners etc.
The EAD provides Alumni a network to keep in touch with each other and exchange experiences

Founded in 1991, ELS - The ELSA Lawyers Society is the international alumni association of ELSA - The European Law Students' Association. ELSA was founded in 1981 by the five men on the picture above (not holding the globe), who are now honorary members of ELS.
ELS offers its currently almost 600 members a natural continuation of ELSA upon graduation, but tailored to "postgraduate" interests, time constraints and budget. The aims of ELS were expressed in the Statutes as follows:
RECALLING that the aim of ELS is to bring together lawyers and other members all over Europe who have been part of or who have supported the ELSA network and structure or who wish to do so now and in the future; to enhance the exchange of knowledge and experiences and to create and maintain personal contacts amongst lawyers in Europe.
Our activities
ELS does a number of things to realise its aims:
We maintain an online Directory, with and for all members, including their personal and professional information;
ELS members can participate at ELS and ELSA meetings and activities throughout the year;
Regular updates on ELS, ELSA and our members are provided through our website, newsletter and mailing-list;
ELS supports ELSA, financially and in-kind. Financial assistance includes the ELS Scholarships, as well as other ad hoc purposes. In-kind support can vary, from helping ELSA find sponsors, lecturers and trainers, or giving professional advice and expertise.
